11-27-2008 - San Francisco Night
Tonight I found myself walking through my neighborhood. I zipped up my hoodie, looked down at my black and white flats shuffling across the sidewalk, dodging puddles from the street cleaners. I noticed the fog came in early, casting shadows from the lightposts, stretching across the air like a orange glow.
The air is not yet freezing but chilled me down to the core.
I took in deep breaths. I feel alive. Or as close as I can to feeling alive, these past few months I have been riding on the line. Close to miserable and lonely, but not quite there. I feel like I have taken a step back from that line tonight. I smiled to myself counting the blocks till I took a turn left onto Funston
I am supposed to go across town into the Mission and meet Jillian at El Rio, but I am not quite sure I should or I want to. I want to take pictures, see friends, and capture something of this city. I wouldnt mind a late night walk through the fog. Walking alone while the streets are somewhat asleep.
I feel like I once again need him with me. Maybe if even for an hour. I don't think it is possible to hate someone as much as I hate him, yet mourn them as much as I mourn for him.
Being alive makes the death of someone, something, feel like life.
And I feel it. And it isn't bad at all.
